Server Error 0 Occured

Hi,

Have bought metapost PE and after having installed it, could not connect using WLW.

I always get the infamous "Server Error 0 occured" :).

Have read anything I could on the faq and forum messages.

Verified that the appropriate Friendly Url was there.

Tried to change the host url (which was pointing to the intranet url rather than the public url).

No luck at all.

Could you provide me with some technical details on what's going on when WLW is connecting to metapost.ashx?

Didn't find the source. Maybe I could use reflector but some infos would surely save me some times.

My dnn install is 4.6 and seems to comply your system requirements.

Are there some minimum versions needed for the modules supported.

Hi Frederic,

I'm sorry to hear about the problems you're having with your installation of metaPost. Unfortunately, the WLW mechanism for passing errors from a MetaWeblog client is not user friendly. All errors returned from a MetaWeblog client show up as Server Error 0. We can pass additional error message information, but this will always appear after the Server Error 0. Until there's an improvement in WLW, we'll have to work within this exception management infrastructure.

Regarding your situation, DNN 4.6 should work fine. What module are you trying to connect to? If this site is public, feel free to send me an email with a username and password that I can try from my end if you'd like for me to troubleshoot on my end. Just a follow up on this issue. There were bugs in the blog module provider which have been addressed in the new 1.2.6 version of metaPost. This new version has been uploaded to Snowcovered and a patch for the Professional Edition as well as the Community Edition is available.
