When an account is configured in Windows Live Writer that has author priviledges for more than one instance of News Articles modules, a drop down list should appear during the account creation process.  Does the user account you are using in Windows Live Writer have author priviledges to more than one instance of News Articles in your portal?

What version of metaPost and News Articles are you using?  Are you able to publish articles to the test site at metapost.itcrossing.com?  I added a second instance of NA to the site so when you create your account, you should see the way WLW shows multiple instances of NA when they exist on the server and the user account you're using has sufficient privileges to both instances.

There's a newer version of metaPost community edition which addresses an issue with the 6+ versions of NA.  You can access the download from the patches section at Snowcovered.  Let me know if this doesn't address your issue.
