Hi Liz,
Trackbacks can be confusing with the current version of the blog module. The Trackback URL is not there to be clicked as you would click a normal URL. It's there so you (or more accurately, your readers) can right click the URL and choose to copy the URL to their clipboard for pasting in a blog client which supports Trackbacks. It's a way for their blog to tell your blog that they've linked to your blog entry from theirs. Trackbacks are actaully an older technology and have been all but replaced by pingbacks in the more modern blogging platforms. Unfortunately, the current version of the blog module only supports Trackbacks.
metaPost supports both Trackbacks and Pingbacks. To turn on the auto pingback feature, simply set the Ping dropdown to Allow before posting your blog entry. metaPost will read through your post and check all the URLs in your post to see if they support Trackbacks or Pingbacks. metaPost will then send Trackbacks or Pings to the URLs which support this feature.
Finally, here's a URL to a thread in the DotNetNuke forums where you can find more information on Trackbacks and the blog module.
